Dear Suit: I usually only wash my face during my morning shower, but why should I wash my face at night too?
Dear Anonymous Writer:
It is very important to wash your face at night. Good news is that you do not necessarily need to wash it in the morning too. As for “why should you wash your face at night”, let’s try to make the long story short:
Your skin, especially on your face is in contact with a lot of dirt and germs during the whole day. Your phone, pollution… Many things adhere to your skin during the whole day without you noticing it. That is alright, it is life but while you sleep, is the time when your skin can heal and regenerate.
If your skin is dirty, your skin is hindered to do its usual tasks. Your pores will be partly or fully blocked with sebum and all the dirt your skin has been accumulating during the day and you have not washed off. That said, blocked pores can lead to many different type of blemishes, acne, blackheads, oily looking skin, and even enlarged pores… And since your skin is unable to oxygenate properly, it will also be unable to get nourishment and keep doing its basic functions.
That is why dirty skin leads with time to many skin issues like excessive oil production, skin dryness, discoloration, and premature aging. Many of these issues are due to free radicals, waste, and bacteria accumulated in your skin, which lead to cellular oxidation.
To avoid looking wrinkly, old, and having too many blemishes, which will make you look much less attractive if not today, tomorrow you should start washing your face at night. To keep looking younger and attractive for longer and avoid your much more unattractive, older, and wrinklier version.
It might sound like a pain, but sometimes life is truly NO PAIN NO GAIN and remember that as mentioned before most days you won’t need to wash your face in the morning. So if having to do too many things in your already busy schedule puts you off, just exchange morning cleansing for night cleansing to skip any extra steps. Hope this helps!
