ASK SUIT: I usually only wash my face during my morning shower, but why should I wash my face at night too?
Dear Anonymous Writer:
It is very important to wash your face at night. The good news is that you do not necessarily need to wash it in the morning. As for “why should you wash your face at night”, let’s try to make a long story short:
Your skin, especially on your face is in contact with a lot of dirt and germs during the entire day. Microscopic bacteria adhere to your skin during the day and it is unnoticeable. Properly cleanse your skin before sleeping. When your body is at rest, the skin can heal and regenerate .
If your skin is dirty, your skin is hindered to do its usual tasks. Your pores will be partly or fully blocked with sebum. All the dirt your skin that has been accumulating will stay. With that being said, blocked pores can lead to many different types of blemishes and unwanted skin textures. Since your skin is unable to produce oxygen, it will also be unable to get nourishment to perform its basic functions.
Dirty skin is a start to many unwanted skin issues like excessive oil production, skin dryness, discoloration, and premature aging. Many of these issues are due to free radicals, waste, and bacteria accumulated in your skin, which lead to cellular oxidation.
To avoid aging rapidly and having too many blemishes, which will make you look much less attractive if not today, tomorrow you should start washing your face at night. In return, it will keep you youthful for a longer period of time.
It might sound like a pain, but sometimes life is truly NO PAIN NO GAIN. As mentioned before, most days you won’t need to wash your face in the morning. So, if having to do too many things in your already busy schedule puts you off, just exchange morning cleansing for night cleansing to skip any extra steps. Hope this helps!
